Ordering & Course Access

How do your courses work?

Choose the course and delivery option shown on its course page. Depending on the course, you may study entirely online or receive physical materials by mail. Work through the materials at your own pace, complete the open-book multiple-choice exam, and submit the course evaluation. The individual course page identifies exactly what is included and which delivery options are available.

When can I begin an entirely online course?

You can begin after your completed purchase. Sign in to your member account to access the course materials, exam, and any online videos included with the course.

Do courses include textbooks or videos?

Materials vary. Some courses use downloadable text, some include a mailed textbook, and some include online video. Review the “You Will Receive” section and ordering options on the individual course page before purchasing.

How long do I have to complete a course?

There is no course-completion deadline. You may study and test on your own schedule.

How long does a mailed course take to arrive?

Mailed materials are sent by USPS. Delivery time depends on the order time, business days, destination, and carrier conditions. Contact us before ordering if you have a firm deadline.

What does shipping cost?

The applicable shipping charge is calculated for the items and delivery address in your cart. For international or expedited delivery, call 712-490-8245 or contact us for availability and a current quote.

Testing

What are the exams like?

Course exams are multiple-choice and open-book. You may consult the course materials while answering questions.

How does online testing work?

Open the course in your member account and select the exam. There is no exam time limit, and you can save your answers and return later. A score of 70% or higher is required. After you pass and submit the short course evaluation, your certificate of achievement becomes available in your member account to download and print.

What happens if I do not pass?

You may attempt an online exam up to three times. If you do not pass on the third attempt, call 712-490-8245 to discuss your options. Students submitting a paper exam will be contacted if their score is below 70%.

How does paper testing work?

If a paper-exam option is offered, follow the instructions included with the mailed materials. Complete the open-book exam and course evaluation, then return them as directed. We grade the submission and mail the certificate of achievement.

Certificates

Will I receive a certificate or a professional certification?

You receive a certificate of achievement documenting completion of an educational course. It is not a professional certification or credential.

When is an online certificate available?

The exam is graded immediately. Once you earn at least 70% and complete the course evaluation, you can download and print the certificate from your member account.

When will a paper-course certificate arrive?

Allow approximately seven business days after mailing your completed materials, depending on mail time. Choose online testing when available if you need immediate access to a printable certificate.

Can I replace a lost certificate?

Certificates earned online can be reprinted from your member account. For a replacement copy of a certificate originally mailed to you, contact us; a replacement fee may apply.

State Board Reporting

Will you report my CE hours?

We report completions to Louisiana and Mississippi and through CE Broker for Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. For other states and the NCBTMB, the certificate is provided to you for your records and any required self-reporting. Reporting rules can change; verify your jurisdiction on our approvals page and with the board responsible for your renewal.
